Description:
The merit and influence of good leadership has become far more acknowledged and widespread in healthcare management. First-class leadership is vital because the complexity of the healthcare system requires the qualities of a good leader who can link the world of management to the world of medical/clinical practice, while understanding people??s needs and accommodating and developing the broad array of health services needed by them.

This conference will address a series of topics which will provide participants with an articulated approach to contemporary leadership and management of health services and health facilities. The conference is designed to provide a contemporary presentation of current leadership and management models, to discuss making and sustaining change and the crucial issues of identifying and training leaders: secondly, it will provide examples of the successful application of these models in varying situations and environments which parallel emerging situations in Malaysia.

Description:
The government has raised electricity tariff by 7.12% starting June 2011 as part of its ongoing subsidy rationalisation exercise plus 1% as Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) for RE Fund will be imposed on consumers\' monthly bill (excluding Domestic consumers with monthly consumption of 300kWh and below) effective 1st December 2011.

More than one-third of worldwide energy is consumed in buildings, accounting for more than 15 percent of global carbon emissions. In large cities, building energy use can account for up to 80 percent of carbon emissions. Most of the buildings that will be around in the future have already been built and are affecting our environment. And while many of these buildings were not designed for energy efficiency, a typical building can realize significant energy savings by retrofitting with up-to-date technologies and systems and optimizing operations. Reducing building energy use has a significant environmental and economic impact, greatly reducing both carbon emissions and operational costs. Building retrofit projects also benefit local economies by creating jobs.

As the economy moves towards dip recession, building and industry owners have to seek ways to cut costs, retain tenants, increase market performance and gain competitive advantage. An energy-efficient retrofit can achieve these objectives by turning business-as-usual operations into profit centers.

Existing buildings are full of energy efficiency opportunities waiting to be realized. While some savings are obvious and easy to reach via one-off upgrades of windows, lighting and appliances, by using an integrated, whole-buildings design approach, profoundly larger energy savings can often be gained at little or no added capital cost.
Source Clintonfoundation/ climate Initiative

Description:
The shipping industry is facing ever greater challenges due to the recession in the world economy. Even when the global economy recovers, fuel prices are expected to rise due to shortages of fossil fuel oils. The shipping community is experiencing stricter limitations on pollution (SOx, NOx, PM), and considerable pressure to accept its share of the required reductions of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). More knowledge will be essentiaal if we are to meet these challenges.

Asia Network Japan with the support from Malaysia Shipownerâ??s Association is organising a seminar to discuss a new emerging technology solution for the shipping of the future from Japan.. The main focus will be on how this green technology Lubricon can be addressed on energy systems, technical systems and cost saving operations.

In order to meet the future challenges within a wide range of marine technologies, Asia Network Japan has just commenced concept development for its next-generation maritime competence solution

Description:

The 15 to 18 months from the middle of 2008 through all of 2009 have probably proved to be amongst the more difficult that working people have felt for some considerable time, if not the toughest ever.Whilst the good news is that there appears to be a new day dawning reflecting more hope and opportunity than we believed possible 12 months ago, the reality is that
business is unlikely to be the same again for many years to come. Making profits will be tough, and organisations are going to have approach the questions of staff planning, workforce pay, benefits and terms of employment with new thinking.

We cannot simply return to doing things the way they were done before, reduced profit margins, improved performance, extra requirements from customers will mean facing the future with fresh ideas.
